Bogosian joins Jets teammates, sans contract
WINNIPEG - Zach Bogosian may not have a contract but he's arrived in Winnipeg and was on the ice with his teammates wearing a Jets practice jersey on Monday morning.
Bogosian and goalie Ondrej Pavelec arrived in Winnipeg on Sunday and took to the ice with their teammates at the MTS Iceplex.
The 21-year-old Bogosian is a restricted free agent with no arbitration rights and he and the Jets have been unable to settle on a new contract.
Bogosian is one of three marquee young defencemen, Toronto's Luke Schenn and LA's Drew Doughty are the others, to not have a contract with camps scheduled to open on Saturday.
The Jets and Bogosian's agent Bob Murray have been in discussions all summer but they have yet to bear fruit.
Pavelec is expected to be Winnipeg's starting goaltender and is one of the bright young netminding stars in the NHL.
