Rifles' Szilagyi honoured again

WINNIPEG - Winnipeg Rifles punter/placekicker John Szilagyi has been named the www.VidSwap.com Prairie Football Conference special teams player of the week honors for a second consecutive week.

Szilagyi went three-for-three in kicking field goals, also for a second straight week, in last Sunday’s 18-16 loss to the defending conference champion Saskatoon Hilltops.

The third-year Rifles junior football player booted field goals from 18, 25 and 36 yards along with a 54-yard punt single.

Szilagyi, who boosted his punting average to 40.7 yards per punt, and the Rifles (1-3) travel to Edmonton to meet the Wildcats (2-2) on Sunday at Clarke Park.
