Lions quarterback Travis Lulay named CFL offensive player of week

TORONTO - B.C. Lions quarterback Travis Lulay was named CFL offensive player of the week Wednesday and teammate Akeem Foster took the nod for top Canadian.

Lulay threw for 309 yards in B.C.'s 29-16 victory over Toronto last week. He completed 25-of-36 passes and had one touchdown pass.

Foster hauled in a 53-yard catch in the fourth quarter and finished with eight receptions for 144 yards.

Saskatchewan linebacker Jerrell Freeman took defensive honours. He forced a fumble and had seven tackles, an interception and a sack in the Riders' 27-7 win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Toronto's Chad Owens was named special teams player of the week.

He returned four kickoffs for 245 yards, including a 91-yard touchdown return in the fourth quarter.
