Montreal Canadiens sign defenceman Jarred Tinordi to three-year deal
MONTREAL - Defenceman Jarred Tinordi signed a three-year contract with the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday.
Tinordi was selected 22nd overall by Montreal in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He has spent the past two seasons with the Ontario Hockey League's London Knights.
The six-foot-six, 215-pound defenceman has two assists and a plus-7 rating in six games with the top-ranked Knights this season. He's also earned 22 penalty minutes.
Tinordi, the son of former NHL defenceman Mark Tinordi, had a goal and 13 assists for London in 2010-'11. He led the team with 140 penalty minutes.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
