Canadian superfight between Pascal and Bute to take place at Bell Centre

MONTREAL - The venue for the upcoming fight between Montreal-based boxers Lucian Bute and Jean Pascal has been set.

Promoters InterBox and Groupe Yvon Michel announced Wednesday that the former world champions will meet May 25 at Montreal's Bell Centre.

Pascal is the former World Boxing Council light heavyweight champion, while Bute once held the International Boxing Federation super-middleweight crown.

It's shaping up to be the biggest fight between two Canadians since Dave Hilton faced Stephane Ouellet three times between 1998 and 2000 before crowds of close to 20,000 in Montreal.

The purse for the fight has not yet been announced.
