B-side playoff games set to begin at 4
NEEPAWA -- The matchups for this afternoon's B-side playoff qualifying games here at the Manitoba men's curling championship are now set.
With a berth into this evening's eight-team playoff round on the line, the following four games will take place at 4 p.m.: Scott Madams versus David Bohn, David Kraichy versus Rob Fowler, William Lyburn versus Steen Sigurdson and Scott Ramsay versus Dave Elias.
Madams, Kraichy, Lyburn and Ramsay all advanced with victories on Friday's 12:15 p.m. draw: Madams beat Jared Kolomaya 6-1; Kraichy beat Jerry Chudley 9-4; Lyburn beat Kelly Robertson 7-6; and Ramsay beat Mark Lukowich 8-2.
The losers on the 4 p.m. draw will be eliminated, while the winners will join Jeff Stoughton, Mike McEwen, Sean Grassie and Terry McNamee on the first playoff draw tonight at 7:45 p.m.. Stoughton, McEwen, Grassie and McNamee all advanced with victories in A-side qualifiers on Friday's 8:30 a.m. draw.
