Bombers fire assistant GM Hodgkinson

Blue Bombers GM Joe Mack has fired assistant GM and longtime staffer Ross Hodgkinson.

Hodgkinson’s contact was due to expire on Dec. 31st and Mack told him today the club would not renew it.

"We would like to take this time to thank Ross for everything he has done for the organization over his time here," said Joe Mack. "With the Club looking at going in a different direction when it comes to our front office management, we felt this was in the best interest of the organization to bring in someone new to fill this position. Our search for a new Assistant General Manager will begin immediately and we hope to have someone in place very soon. We wish Ross all the best. "

Hodgkinson handled all the day-to-day duties with the Bombers such as the salary cap, travel, contracts and other administrative duties.

Mack, who owns a 20-34 record as GM of the Bombers, was retained by the club last week. Mack fired head coach Paul LaPolice this season and now his assistant GM.
