Bombers' kick returner Troy Stoudermire has been named the league's special teams player of the week after racking up 153 yards in returns, including a 61-yard punt return for a touchdown, in Sunday's 35-30 loss against Saskatchewan.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers said today they will add three directors to their board via a public nomination process.

The nominations opened today and will remain open until Oct. 1.

Nominations using a public process began with the team last year when it added two directors.

The Bombers said they expect to recommend nominees by December. A team nominating committee will scrutinize the applications submitted to ensure potential nominees meet qualifying standards.

Successful candidates will then be elected by the team’s current board of directors.

The club has requested nominations be submitted via email to boardnomination@bluebombers.com.

Qualifications for joining the board can be reviewed here.

The Bombers got some good news from the CFL today, that kick returner Troy Stoudermire has been named the league’s special teams player of the week.

Stoudermire returned a punt on Sunday in Saskatchewan 61 yards for a touchdown and had 153 yards in kickoff returns.
