It is looking increasingly like what you see is what you’re going to get as far as the 2013 Winnipeg Blue Bombers are concerned.
Bombers head coach Tim Burke said the phones at Investors Group Field have been quiet on Wednesday as the CFL trading deadline expires this afternoon at 2:59 CT.
"I don’t think there’s been any feelers or anything," said Burke. "I’m sure (GM) Kyle (Walters) has emailed or talked to other GMs. But I don’t think anything is happening."
The 2-12 Bombers still have four regular season games remaining in the 2013 season but have already been all but eliminated from the CFL playoffs. Winnipeg’s only remaining route to the post-season would require them to win all four of their remaining games and have the Montreal Alouettes lose all four of theirs.
In other Bombers news on Wednesday:
"He’s got a little bit of a shin problem, but probably just can’t get him ready fast enough."
"I think so. But that’s not up to me to make that decision. But yeah, I do."
"We joke about it, but that’s about it. I say, ‘You’re way too embedded in the community to leave.’ Stuff like that. ‘You’re not going to get a truck like that somewhere else."
Muamba drives a free truck in Winnipeg that has been supplied to him by a local car dealership.
The Bombers return to the practice field on Thursday for the first time since Saturday’s loss in Calgary.
