Season of disappointment for Bombers shows up on selections to all-star team
It was a Winnipeg Blue Bomber season full of disappointment and change. And, not surprisingly, all that letdown has been represented on the 2012 Canadian Football League All-Star team.
Just one Bomber – defensive tackle Bryant Turner – was named to the squad, as voted on by members of The Football Reporters of Canada, CFL head coaches and fans and announced today.

Turner, who turned 25 on Grey-Cup Sunday is coming off a solid campaign in which he registered six sacks and added 20 tackles, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery in 14 games.
Somewhat surprising was the omission of receiver Chris Matthews, named the CFL’s Most Outstanding Rookie last month, after he pulled in 81 passes for 1,192 yards and seven touchdowns.
Worth noting, however, is his yardage total was sixth overall and his reception number was fifth best.
Also named to the CFL All-Star team was Winnipeg’s Andrew Harris, a running back, who finished third in the league this year by churning out 1,112 yards along the ground.
