Big Blue to don classic jerseys for Banjo Bowl
THE Winnipeg Blue Bombers are breaking out the old 1970-style retro uniforms -- royal blue tops, gold pants -- for Sunday's contest. The game-worn jerseys are already up for auction at auction.cfl.ca and bids will be accepted until Wednesday.
DID YOU KNOW? Sunday marks the ninth installment of the Banjo Bowl. Winnipeg and Saskatchewan are tied 4-4, with the clubs alternating wins the last three meetings. The Riders won 45-23 last year, on the wings of Buck Pierce's five interceptions.

CARR IDLING: The Riders newest acquisition, former Bombers wide receiver Greg Carr, won't be in Winnipeg Sunday. Carr was picked up via trade from Edmonton earlier in the week. His spot in Winnipeg, of course, was filled by Chris Matthews, who's been a lone bright spot for the Bombers this season.
How do the two pass catchers compare through the first nine games of their careers? Let's take a look:
Matthews (2012): 45 catches, 684 yards, 15.2 yards per catch average, five TDs.
Carr (2010-11): 38 catches, 670 yards, 17.6 yards per catch average, four TDs.
REMINDER: Today is Fan Appreciation Day at the stadium. Fans are encouraged to come out and watch the walkthrough (10:30 a.m.) and stay for an autograph session. The club is also holding a free concert, featuring The Watchmen and The Northern Pikes, at 12:45 p.m. Doors open at 9 a.m.
