Buck Pierce number alert!

  • Print

Pay attention all you Buck Pierce fans who were eager to rush over to The Bomber Store to get outfitted in the new quarterback's jersey...

Initially we reported Pierce would wear No. 16 -- the same as Matt Dunigan -- because that's the number he wore during his time with the B.C. Lions. Also, after the Bombers signed Pierce this week he was listed as #16 on the club's roster on CFL.ca.

But Bomber media relations guy Darren Cameron informs me Pierce will actually wear No. 4 this season, not 16.

And just in the interest of fairness -- the coaches have insisted Pierce has not been anointed the starter -- it's worth noting that Steven Jyles will wear No. 3 while Ricky Santos is No. 7. Adam DiMichele, who came over from Calgary last September, wore No. 4 last year but will have to surrender that to Pierce.
