THE Winnipeg Blue Bombers QB carousel is spinning again this week.
In related news, the sun will rise and set again tomorrow and it will get cold here in the winter.
The Bombers announced Tuesday that Max Hall will start this week's game against the Edmonton Eskimos, his third of his CFL career. And, just to recap the starter situation this year, Buck Pierce started the first four games, followed by Justin Goltz for two, Hall for two and Goltz for two.
"Justin is really good with his feet, but Max did a better job of decision making during the game," said Bomber head coach Tim Burke. "Max was the starter and then got hurt and Justin took over. We're back to that, where he showed why he was a starter at that point, which was his decision making."
Asked if he was getting weary about the constant changes to the QB position, Burke offered an answer that sums up the season.
"Yeah. I mean, I hate this merry-go-round. You just can't develop a lot of consistency."
OUCH REPORT: RB Chad Simpson, who was supposed to return to the practice field on Tuesday, is still bothered by a sore foot and won't dress. Safety Cauchy Muamba missed Tuesday with a bum ankle, prompting an intriguing shift that had Jovon Johnson at safety and Marty Markett at corner; SB Cory Watson (hamstring) is out this week.
QUOTABLE: "It's all new to me... the 20-yard end zone, the three downs, receivers motioning in the backfield, the defensive line lining up one yard back. It's all different. But it's cool. I'm getting used to it." -- new Bomber OL Dan Knapp.
