OFFENCE

After fumbling on the opening series of the game, Bombers slotback Cory Watson had a huge game, leading all receivers with 6 catches for 114 yards, including a 37-yard reception in the first quarter that got the Bombers out of the shadow of their own goalposts and led to the team's first TD.

DEFENCE

Bombers defensive tackle Zach Anderson -- who was on the team's practice roster until JT Gilmore went down last week -- did nothing less in his CFL debut than sack Anthony Calvillo twice, recover a fumble and make 3 tackles. Honourable mention to Bryant Turner who had 3 sacks and a forced fumble before he left the game late in the 4th quarter with what the team later described as breathing problems.

SPECIAL TEAMS

Bombers punter Mike Renaud was masterful all night, dropping his punts seemingly wherever the Als returners weren't and averaging 48.2 yards on 10 efforts.

CRITICAL NUMBERS

366: Total yards in net offence for Winnipeg

136: Total yards in net offence for Montreal

93: Yards rushing by Winnipeg

257: Yards passing by Winnipeg

19-31, 257, 1, 0: Passes attempted, completed, total yards, interceptions and touchdowns by Bombers QB Buck Pierce

16-28, 136, 2, 1: The same line for Als QB Anthony Calvillo

Bryant Turner Update

Bombers defensive tackle Bryant Turner left the game late in the 4th quarter and was reportedly having difficulties breathing on the sideline.

Paramedics were called in at the end of the game as Turner's teammates gathered nearby and prayed. Turner was administered oxygen and was wheeled off the field after the game on a stretcher, but he appeared to be conscious and alert.

Bombers communications staff would only say last night that Turner was being "evaluated," but the player's teammates said they'd been told his condition was good and he was taken by paramedics only as a precaution.
