BOMBERS LB PIERRE-LUC LABBE ON THE CHALLENGE HIS TEAM FACES WITH THE REGULAR-SEASON OPENER IN JUST SIX DAYS:
'You have to believe. The season's not even started, we're not going to give up already, right? It's still exciting, we've got that new stadium. Like I said, we haven't played the way we wanted to, but we have to learn from it and be ready for Montreal. Because you know they'll be ready'
QB MAX HALL ON WHAT IT WAS LIKE TO SHARE THE SECOND HALF WITH FELLOW BACKUP CHASE CLEMENT WITH HIS TEAM ALREADY DOWN 35-0:
'It was tough. They had all the momentum, everything was going their way. We were rotating quarterbacks every other series (in the second half), so you can't get in a rhythm. It was just tough -- a ball gets tipped in the air, a receiver doesn't reduce his route' But that's no excuse. I still had opportunities to score and didn't'
BLUE HEAD COACH TIM BURKE ON THE OBVIOUS:
'I'm really disappointed. We turned the ball over nine times. If we were playing The Little Sisters of the Poor, they'd have beat us. When you turn over the ball that many times, you have no chance of winning'
BURKE ON THE SEARCH FOR A SILVER LINING:
SSLqOn the positive, the defence had 12 two-and-outs. They did a great job for the most part. They were put in some terrible positions and three scores were not on the defence. So really, they didn't play that bad'
BURKE ON QB JUSTIN GOLTZ'S FIRST-HALF PERFORMANCE:
'He moved the ball so that's a real positive in that respect. Especially when we were coming off our goal line that one time, he got us out... He got us off the goal line, got us good field position, we were able to punt it down into their end. So that was a real positive'
BURKE ON WHAT HE WOULD TELL BOMBERS FANS RIGHT NOW:
SSLqCome on out and cheer us on. We need as loud a crowd as we can get'
BURKE ON WHETHER HIS TEAM IS BETTER THAN THEY'VE SHOWN IN THE PRE-SEASON:
'I certainly hope so'
BACKUP QB CHASE CLEMENT ON HIS 4-FOR-11, 21 YARDS, THREE-INT PERFORMANCE:
'I know I did some good things, made some good throws, used my legs a little bit. But yeah, it's tough to assess when your team is down that much'
BLUE SB JADE ETIENNE:
'I felt like I played my hardest. I did everything I could to help the team progress down the field. We'll look on tape and see how I played, but I think I played pretty well'
