Game Day: key matchup

Montreal receivers vs. Winnipeg's secondary

Alouettes quarterback Anthony Calvillo is always the key for opposing defences. Pressure is one way to stop him, defensive co-ordinators say. Another way? Shut down the favourite pass options.

Calvillo's primary targets -- Jamel Richardson (right) and S.J. Green -- are first (1,015) and third (770), respectively, in CFL receiving yards this year.

"They don't really have any true speedsters, but they are a physical bunch," Bombers safety Ian Logan said. "A lot of times, Calvillo will just throw up the ball and expect their big guys to make the plays. We need to answer that with some physical play of our own."

The Bombers have carved out a reputation for having a tough defence, so the matchup should be good. Richardson (6-foot-3, 207 pounds) is especially challenging, Logan says. "He has good hands, too. He doesn't miss many."
