WINNIPEG Blue Bombers head coach Paul LaPolice didn't want to face the questions of reporters on Saturday, but made his personal views on his firing clear on Twitter instead.

"Thks to everyone for the show of support. Although I 110% disagree with the decision today, I have loved every minute of being HC of Bombers," he tweeted.

"Last nights (Friday's) effort did not reflect a team that didn't believe in the coach and players that have reached out to me disagree with that view," he tweeted. "Thanks to everyone and although not perfect I am proud of our Eastern championship, grey cup appearance and think the future can be bright."

Here's a sampling of other reaction on Twitter to LaPolice's firing:

"Very disappointed to hear @PaulLaPolice was fired. I know the team has struggled but this is a proven coach who was in the GC last Nov."

-- TSN's Dave Randorf

"The Kiss Of Death for head coaches in Winnipeg -- receiving a contract extension before the original one expires. #Berry #LaPolice"

-- Former Bomber DT Doug Brown

"Nice guys finish last."

-- BC receiver Arland Bruce

"I nominate Milt Stegall as Blue Bombers Head Coach."

-- Bruce again

"Joe Mack had better fasten his seat belt for the backlash he is about to endure."

-- Former Bombers kicker Troy Westwood

"Spring 08, Berry gets extension. Fired in Nov; Dec. 08 Kelly hired. Fired Dec. 09; Spring '12, Lapo ext'n. Fired in Aug. Bravo."

-- Sportsnet reporter -- and former Bombers PR guy -- Arash Madani

"Bombers lose by 3 to best team in CFL and fire their head coach. Brilliant! Joe Mack better watch his back. What a moron."

-- Montreal Gazette beat writer Herb Zurkowsky, the dean of Canadian football print media

"Another promotion via firing for Tim Burke. Took over as #calstampeders DC when Denny Creehan was fired in 2007 season."

-- Calgary Herald beat writer Allen Cameron

"So many things I want to say! To all the true fans -- thank you for the great love and support. Was great to be home. Sad day but will move on..."

-- Tina LaPolice
