Tebow's status uncertain for Jacksonville game

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Tim Tebow is heading home -- possibly as only a sideline spectator.
It will be a game-time decision as to whether the New York Jets' backup quarterback plays in the team's game in his hometown of Jacksonville against the Jaguars on Sunday.
"As far as Tim is concerned, we want to make sure," coach Rex Ryan said Friday. "He's done more this week in practice, quite a bit more. We want to see how he travels and what he feels like on game day."
Tebow, healing from two broken ribs, will fly with the team Saturday and Ryan and the team doctors will determine before the game if he will play. He is listed as questionable.
Miller fined $25K for hit
NEW YORK -- Denver Broncos defensive end Von Miller was fined $25,000 by the NFL on Friday for his hit below the knee of Tampa Bay quarterback Josh Freeman last week.
Miller was penalized for roughing the passer in the second quarter of the Broncos' 31-23 win over the Buccaneers last Sunday. Miller was fined $21,000 last month for a similar infraction against Carolina quarterback Cam Newton.
Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher was fined $21,000 for a horse-collar tackle on Seattle's Leon Washington, his second fine in two weeks. Urlacher, penalized for the tackle in the Bears' 23-17 loss last Sunday, also was fined last week for a horse-collar tackle of Minnesota's Adrian Peterson.
49ers Brown, Gore good
SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Running back Frank Gore and cornerback Tarell Brown took a little time off to heal nagging injuries this week, but both are expected to play when the San Francisco 49ers host the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
Gore is nursing a wrist problem, while Brown's hamstring has been problematic.
Both players said they will be ready to go and 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh confirmed that he expects Gore and Brown to play as San Francisco tries to rebound from last Sunday's 16-13 overtime loss to St. Louis.
Wide receiver Mario Manningham remains doubtful with a shoulder injury, and several other players are listed as probable.
The 49ers have won nine consecutive home games in December.
Chiefs set up Zoey fund
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Kansas City Chiefs have established a formal trust for Zoey Belcher, the infant daughter orphaned by her father, linebacker Jovan Belcher, six days ago.
Belcher killed Zoey Belcher's mother, Kasandra Perkins, before committing suicide.
The family of Chiefs chairman Clark Hunt, Kansas City players and coaches have already donated to the trust fund, the team announced in a statement Friday morning.
"Zoey will always be a part of the Chiefs family, and we hope that this trust will help to ensure she has the resources necessary as she grows up," Hunt said in a statement.
The public may also contribute to the fund, which has been established through UMB Bank in Kansas City.
