CALGARY STAMPEDERS at HAMILTON TIGER-CATS

Tonight, 6 p.m. TV: TSN

Vegas line: Hamilton -4.5

Stamps line: These are dangerous times for Calgary; they need to win to keep pace with the heavy hitters in the West. How do the Stamps accomplish this? Two ways: The defence needs to create more turnovers (they have seven, last in the league), and running back Jon Cornish needs to locate his game. He's been the biggest disappointment in the CFL thus far.

Tiger-Cats line: Henry Burris taking on the team that shipped him out east is the headline-grabber, but that's a little shortsighted. Big picture: His play has been off the charts. Burris has been better than advertised, passing for 15 touchdowns in five games. Don't want to alarm anyone, but on that pace, he'll throw for something like 54 TDs. That would be pretty cool.

Bottom line: Can Kevin Glenn keep up with the aforementioned Burris? Hmmm...

SASKATCHEWAN ROUGHRIDERS at EDMONTON ESKIMOS

Friday, 8:30 p.m. TV: TSN

Vegas line: Edmonton -2.5

Riders line: It's hard to get excited about Saskatchewan giving up fourth-quarter leads the last two games. It's the CFL -- stuff happens. If it continues here, then maybe we'll call it a problem. The danger this week is to not take the Edmonton offence for granted. That will be difficult: The Riders held the Green and Gold to just one point the last time they played.

Eskimos line: The bye week was the best thing to happen to quarterback Steven Jyles, who probably used the break to erase the memory of coughing up the football on a potential game-winning drive in Winnipeg. The last time Edmonton was at home, they put up 42 points. Might need to do that again against the Riders.

Bottom line: Darian Durant has only two interceptions, and yet the Riders are still blowing games?
