City golf courses to open Wednesday

If you have a hankering to hit the links, you can get out and golf starting this week at three City of Winnipeg courses.

Harbour View and John Blumberg golf courses will open on Wednesday, while Kildonan Park Golf Course will open on Friday.

The Harbour View driving range is now open.

Reservations for tee times at Harbour View Golf Course and Recreation Complex, located at 1867 Springfield Rd., can be made by calling the clubhouse at 204-222-2751 or booking online at www.drivetheball.com.

Reservations are now being accepted for opening day Wednesday.

For Kildonan Park Golf Course at 2021 Main St., reservations can be made using the three-day advance reservation system starting Tuesday at 7 a.m. at winnipeg.ca/golf, using the city’s 311 service or with the clubhouse directly at 204-986-5679.

Reservation for tee times at John Blumberg Golf Course (4540 Portage Ave.) can be made by using the seven-day advance reservation system starting Wednesday at 7 a.m., johnblumberggolfcourse.com or through the clubhouse at 204-986-3490.

A press release from the city noted the earliest tee times will vary daily according to overnight temperatures. Regular daily play will not be permitted until conditions are favourable to avoid frost damage to the courses.
