North wins fourth Player of the Year award
WINNIPEG — Dean North of the Carman Golf Club captured his fourth straight Manitoba Player of the Year Award at the PGA of Manitoba’s annual awards reception on Tuesday.
North is the four-time winner of the Titleist-FootJoy PGA of Manitoba Championship, contested this year at Bel Acres. He won by two strokes.
The association also handed out its other annual awards, including: to Steve Wood of Bel Acres as Golf Professional of the Year; to Andrew Steep of Glendale as Assistant of the Year; to Tyler Kerslake of St. Charles as Junior Leader of the Year; and to Shane Dick of Pine Ridge as both Teacher of the Year and Retailer of the Year.
The PGA of Manitoba also recognized Jim Collins, Bud Edwards and James Roy as 50-year members of the PGA of Canada.
