Sholdice, Roadley easily take junior golf championships
The Manitoba Junior Golf Championships this week turned into runaway parties for the winners.
Bel Acres' Ryan Sholdice played safe and smart with his eight-shot lead to start the day and had no trouble taking the title with a tidy round of 74 at St. Charles Country Club.
With a week-long total of one-under-par 287, he won by 11 shots over co-runners-up Travis Fredborg of Selkirk and Bret Thompson of Southwood.
In the girls division, 2010 champ Jenna Roadley of Glendale put a decisive end to two days of drama.
She led by just one shot heading for today's final round but posted a superb three-under 69 to win by 14 shots over Nicole McGlenen and Dana Todd, both of St. Charles.
