Minnewasta head pro Chris Worley wrote this week to inform us -- and now you -- that the pipeline project work that has interrupted play for the last two years was completed late last year and the course is back to proper, untrenched condition.
All 18 holes are open for play.
The completion of the pipeline work, combined with the club's recent improvements of a new irrigation system, and of course, the new 8,000 square-foot clubhouse, will make for some enthusiastic times around the Morden layout.
And in case you haven't already seen it, do check out the amazing video on the clubhouse "move." The link can be found near the bottom of Minnewasta's home page, www.golfminnewasta.com.
Speirs lead locals
on Canadian Tour
Winnipegger Adam Speirs is the only local Canadian Tour member to get to the bank through two events of the season.
Speirs is well down the list, 60th.
Other area players Matt Johnston, Ryan Horn and Tyler Mancini have yet to hit the money list through the two Mexican events but will be changing all that, no doubt, when the Canadian portion of the schedule, a total of just seven events, begins late this month in Victoria, B.C.
The $300,000 Players Cup is scheduled for Pine Ridge July 15-18.
Don McNeill, April 27, Niakwa, 2nd hole, 150 yards, 5-iron.
Calvin Carriere, April 22, Shooters, 6th hole, 77 yards, 9-iron.
