The Calgary Hitmen dominated the Swift Current Broncos on the way to their fifth straight win Tuesday.

Mackenzie Royer, with two, Brandon Kozun, Joel Broda, Jimmy Bubnick and Del Cowan scored for Calgary as the Hitmen thumped the Broncos 6-1 in Western Hockey League play.

Calgary led 1-0 after the first and 3-1 after the second en route to its 37th win of the season. The Hitmen outshot the Broncos 37-16.

Cody Eakin scored his 39th of the season for Swift Current. Eakin is tied with Regina's Jordan Eberle for the league goal-scoring lead.

Elsewhere in the WHL it was: Brandon 6 Regina 2; Kootenay 5 Moose Jaw 2; Red Deer 1 Lethbridge 0; and Tri-City 3 Seattle 2.

At Swift Current, Sask., Hitmen netminder Michael Snider improved to 13-5-2 with a 15-save performance.

Broncos goaltender Morgan Clark gave up six goals on 37 shots while falling to 17-13-1.

The Central Division leading Hitmen improved their record to 37-16-2.

Swift Current remains ninth in the Eastern Conference after falling to 28-26-3 and remains a single point behind Moose Jaw for the final playoff spot.

Wheat Kings 6 Pats 2

At Brandon, Man., the Wheat Kings scored four goals on just eight shots in their win over Regina.

Alexander Urbom scored two goals, while Toni Rajala, Matt Calvert, Mark Schneider and Scott Glennie added singles for the Wheat Kings (38-16-4).

Hampus Gustafsson and Myles Bell, with his first WHL goal, replied for the Pats (24-26-7).

Ice 5 Warriors 2

At Cranbrook, B.C., Dustin Sylvester had two goals and added an assist as the Ice topped Moose Jaw.

Ryan Molle, Joe Antilla and Matt Fraser also scored for Kootenay (35-17-5).

Jesse Paradis and Spencer Edwards had the goals for Moose Jaw (26-20-8).

Rebels 1 Hurricanes 0

At Red Deer, Alta., Darcy Kuemper made 24 saves for his third shutout of the season as the Rebels beat Lethbridge.

Justin Weller scored the game's only goal 3:29 into the second for the Rebels (31-21-4).

Linden Rowat was strong in defeat for the Hurricanes (16-35-5), making 33 saves.

Americans 3 Thunderbirds 2

At Kennewick, Wash., Jordan Messier scored the game-winner midway through the third as Tri-City stayed atop the Western Hockey League standings with a victory over Seattle.

Tri-City (39-13-2, 80 points) is tied at the top of the league standings with Brandon, while Saskatoon has 78 points.

Sergei Drozd and Jarrett Toll also scored for Tri-City.

Lindsay Nielsen and Charles Wells replied for Seattle (14-32-9).
