Nice night for last SuperStar Summer Showdown hockey game

No, hockey season hasn't started early, but you do have the chance to see some of the NHL's hottest stars hit the ice in Winnipeg tonight for a good cause.

SuperStar Summer Showdown goes tonight at the MTS Iceplex. Jonathan Toews, Mike Richards and Jordin Tootoo are just a few of the hockey stars that will suit up.

The annual all-star charity hockey game is in support of the Believe In The Goal Foundation. Founded by Todd Davidson, the foundation is dedicated to supporting cancer-patient care in Manitoba.

Davidson, a former Western Hockey League player, died in 2006 after a three-year battle with cancer at the age of 20.

To date, the foundation has since raised more than $300,000.

Ticket-holders also have the chance to meet their favourite professional hockey players from 4 - 5 p.m. in the MTS Autograph Alley.

The puck drops at 7 p.m.
