Raiders to host MMJHL all-star game

The Raiders Junior Hockey Club has announced it will celebrate its 35th season by hosting the Manitoba Major Junior Hockey League’s 2011-2012 All-Star Game on Feb. 4 at 7:30 p.m. at the Billy Mosienko Arena.

The teams will be called Team Jacobucci and and Team Coffey to posthumously honour two original Raiders players.

The first all-star team includes goalie Brett Gagnon of the Raiders, defence Jordan Lisowick of the Raiders and Dillon Smith of Charleswood, along with forwards Jesse Toth of Charleswood, Cam Hildebrand of the Raiders and Brett Nespor of Stonewall.

On the second all-star team are goalie Lucas Felbel of Charleswood, defence Tyler Pope of Charleswood, and Derek Wasylyshen of the Raiders, as well as forwards Mackenzie Acheson of Ft.Garry/Ft.Rouge, Sean Kubas of Charleswood and Tyler Peers of Pembina Valley.

The Raiders are second overall in the MMJHL with a record of 21-8-1 (wins, losses and overtime losses) behind the Charleswood Hawks (24-2-3).
