Columbus Blue Jackets send Cam Atkinson to AHL, recall Alexandre Giroux
COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned forward Cam Atkinson to and recalled forward Alexandre Giroux (jux-ROO') from their American Hockey League affiliate in Springfield, Mass.
General manager Scott Howson announced the moves on Thursday.
The 22-year-old Atkinson has appeared in four games with the Blue Jackets this season and scored his first NHL goal against Vancouver on Monday. He made his NHL debut with the club Oct. 7 against Nashville.
Giroux has played 39 career NHL games with Edmonton, Washington and the New York Rangers, recording five goals and six assists.
The Blue Jackets are off to a franchise-worst 0-3-1 start.
