If Fisher puts a ring on it, Underwood would cohabit

SINGER Carrie Underwood says she won't be moving in with boyfriend Mike Fisher of the Ottawa Senators in the near future.

And that's fine with Fisher.

"No, call me old-fashioned. He's there, I'm here," Underwood said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that aired Wednesday. "We're both doing our thing and it's good. The next guy I move in with will be my hubby, whoever that is. I'm not saying it's going to be him."

Fisher confirmed through an Ottawa Senators spokesman that he is not moving in with Underwood. However, he did want to say that he and Underwood are "very happy together."

Underwood and the Senators forward have dated for more than a year after being introduced by one of her band members. Underwood is one of the hottest singers today and last week co-hosted the Academy of Country Music Awards. Her CD, Play On, is burning up the charts.

On the liner notes for the CD, Underwood expresses her love for Fisher, writing, "Thank you #12," referring to his hockey jersey number. "You are the most amazing addition to my life. I thank God for you every day... xoxo Carrie."

Great One to Kings?

LOS ANGELES Kings coach Terry Murray thinks bringing Wayne Gretzky back to the organization would create a "a new culture" of winning.

On Wednesday, Murray told CSNPhilly.com that GM Dean Lombardi has spoken to Gretzky about joining the Kings in some capacity.

Gretzky resigned as coach of the Phoenix Coyotes before the season started. He spent four seasons behind the bench before stepping down, part of the fallout from the Coyotes' lengthy and bitter bankruptcy case.

"He's the player who brought this team to the Stanley Cup final," Murray told the website.

"He is responsible for the growth of hockey in southern California and probably in the southern United States in expansion.

"That would be a real coup for the L.A. Kings. For Wayne Gretzky to be part of the team again in whatever capacity Dean sees fit."
