The big man is still on the mend.
The Winnipeg Jets will be without Dustin Byfuglien for a third straight game when the Florida Panthers pay a visit to MTS Centre Tuesday (7 p.m.; TSN Jets/TSN 1290).
"He’s day-to-day," said head coach Claude Noel, "but it doesn’t look like he’ll be in that game. We don’t anticipate it (the injury and rehab) to be weeks."
The Jets practiced at MTS Iceplex today, with all healthy hands on deck, including Andrew Ladd, Bryan Little and Zach Redmond, all of whom skipped Sunday’s session for maintenance reasons.
Now 3-4-1 after dropping three straight, the Jets will play five of their next six games at MTS Centre. It begins Tuesday against the Panthers, who are 3-5 overall, and continues Thursday against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Jets are in Ottawa on Saturday, then return home for games against Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Boston the following week.
"The goal on any given night is to have everybody in the room on their ‘A’ game," said defenceman Mark Stuart. "Right now we haven’t got consistent ‘A’ games from every guy in the room. That’s something that we’ve talked about and that we’re going to need to get. We are putting it (last week’s road trip) behind us. We’ve got a big game against Florida (Tuesday). We felt like we let that one (a 6-3 loss last Thursday in which they held two third-period leads) slip away."
