A member of the Winnipeg Jets brass has been added to the management team for Team Canada for the upcoming Spengler Cup in Davos, Switzerland.
Craig Heisinger, the Jets’ senior vice-president, director of hockey operations and assistant general manager, joins Brad Treliving and Brad Pascall on the management side as the team prepares for the tournament, Dec. 26-31. Doug Shedden was named head coach.
Canada’s team will be made up of Canadians that are playing professional hockey in Switzerland and Europe, and could also include American Hockey League players on loan from NHL teams. The roster will be announced in mid-December.
Heisinger has worked with Team Canada on two previous occasions, serving as the equipment manager at the 1997 IIHF World Championship, winning a gold medal, and the 1998 Olympic Winter Games.
