The Winnipeg Jets have agreed to terms with defenceman Arturs Kulda on a new contract. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The Jets also placed goaltender Al Montoya on injured reserve. Montoya has a lower-body injury.

Kulda, 24, played in 50 games with Novosibirsk of the KHL this season. In that time, the Riga, Latvia native recorded nine goals and 15 points.

Kulda has played in 15 career NHL games between Winnipeg and Atlanta, collecting two assists.

Kulda was originally drafted by the Thrashers 200th overall in 2006.
