Jets sign junior defenceman to three-year entry-level contract
WINNIPEG -- The Jets have added another young player to their system, today signing junior defenceman Julian Melchiori to a three-year entry-level contract.
Melchiori, who had a pretty decent training camp here last fall, is 20 and was a third-round draft pick of the Atlanta Thrashers in 2010.
He began his season with the OHL's Kitchener Rangers but was traded to the Oshawa Generals. The six-foot-four blueliner has 36 points this season in the OHL.
