Jokinen arrives in city
Olli Jokinen, the highest-profile free agent acquisition by the Winnipeg Jets this summer, has arrived in town.
The 33-year-old skated at the MTS Iceplex on Wednesday afternoon — he worked out on his own — and is expected to skate again by himself Thursday afternoon at 1:45 p.m.

Some other Jets, including Mark Stuart, are expected to arrive in Winnipeg shortly. Some of them want to make sure their kids attend the first day of school while others will want to get acclimatized should the team's training camp open on time.
Everything is up in the air, however, as the NHL and the NHLPA continue to butt heads on the financial aspects of a new collective bargaining agreement. If the two sides haven't reached a deal by Sept. 15, the league's owners will lock the players out.
