Trouba named to all-rookie team
Jacob Trouba’s solid 2012-13 campaign just got a little sweeter.
The Winnipeg Jets’ first-round draft pick (9th overall) in the 2012 NHL entry draft has been named to the 2013 Central Collegiate Hockey Association All-Rookie Team for his work as a freshman with the University of Michigan Wolverines.
The 19-year-old Rochester, MI native leads all CCHA defenceman in goals (10) and points (25). Six of Trouba’s goals have been scored on the power-play.
The award comes after a vote of the conference’s head coaches and the CCHA all-Rookie Team will be honoured at the 2013 CCHA Awards in Detroit on March 22nd.
Trouba was also named the top defenceman and voted to the all-star team at the 2013 World Junior Hockey Championships in Russia, helping the United States win gold.
