"Ø"Ø ABOUT THE OILERS

Edmonton arrived in Winnipeg after falling 4-1 to the Minnesota Wild in St. Paul on Thursday. The Wild scored three goals over a span of 3:22 late in the second and early in the third to break open a 1-1 tie. This is the last of a four-game road trip through the Central Division for the Oilers, who have lost to Chicago, Dallas and Minnesota.

Goaltender Ben Scrivens, making his first start for the Oilers since being acquired from the L.A. Kings on Wednesday, made 29 saves in a losing cause.

Oilers forward Nail Yakupov suffered a head injury late in the second period after being knocked off the puck by Matt Cooke and falling into the boards. He was not on the ice at the MTS Centre Friday and is doubtful for today's game against the Jets.

Edmonton has three players heading to the Olympics: Ales Hemsky (Czech Republic), Martin Marincin (Slovakia), Anton Belov (Russia).

Edmonton is 2-6-2 in its last 10 and at 7-18-3, have the second-worst road record in the NHL to Buffalo (4-14-3).

The Oilers and Jets have split two meetings this year, Winnipeg winning the season-opener 5-4 in Edmonton on Oct. 1 and the Oilers pummeling their visitors 6-2 on Dec. 23.
