Free Press Three Stars

1. Ondrej Pavelec, goalie, Jets. Held his team in the game when they needed him most. Big saves at the right time.

2. Dustin Byguflien, defence, Jets. The big man did it all. Scored twice and even performed a little jig at centre ice.

3. Scott Hartnell, left-winger, Flyers. Hartnell had a goal and assist and was generally dangerous for the Flyers.

A FLYER IN NET

The Flyers have had their struggles in goal since Ron Hextall left, but it appears Steve Mason is a good fit. Mason has been excellent all season despite the players in front of him having their struggles. Mason seems to have regained the form he showed as an excellent up-and-comer with the Columbus Blue Jackets. Not overly acrobatic but positionally solid and poised. Mason has solidified things in the Flyers crease

Up Next:

The Jets hop on a short flight to the Twin Cities to take on the Minnesota Wild, who up to Friday had their own little tear going, with an 8-1-1 record in their last 10.
