Chris Thorburn and Blake Wheeler celebrate a Jets goal in front of deflated Panthers goaltender Jose Theodore.

The Jets haven't mailed it in on the season. They started that way last night but woke up after falling behind 3-0 and then charged back with four unanswered goals. Winnipeg now has a 37-34-9 mark for 83 points.

Little picture

Andrew Ladd with a pair including the overtime winner was the Jets' best player and he just refuses to quit on the season. Ladd has said all the right things in the media and then backed it up on the ice the last few games.

J-E-T-S chat

Panthers fans had a few chants of their own on Tuesday night and took a page from Miami Dolphins fans with this one they usually reserve for when the New York Jets are in town. "J-E-T-S, suck, suck, suck." Seems Winnipeg Jets fans aren't the only snarky group in the NHL.

Make that 30

Evander Kane's second period goal gave him 30 on the season. His previous high was 19 from a year ago. Kane has made a big step up in production and proven he's a bona fide goal scorer at this level.

Free Press ★★★

★ Andrew Ladd, forward, Jets: Two goals including the overtime winner. Ladd now has 27 on the season and continues to lead his team. He’s grown as a captain this season and will be even more effective in coming seasons.

★★ Spencer Machacek, forward, Jets: The Jets needed a pick-me-up and he produced it. Came down off the wall and found Evander Kane on the doorstep with a tidy pass. Great work to spark the Jets.

★★★ Kris Versteeg, Panthers: A goal and an assist and his usual effective self against the Jets.
