All for a good cause: Jets' 50-50 draw helps underprivileged kids

When you step up to the 50-50 kiosk at Winnipeg Jets game, visions of winning the jackpot invariably dance in your head.

But did you ever stop to think where the other half of the money goes? The Winnipeg Jets True North Foundation is the recipient, the team's charity arm.

Formerly known as the Manitoba Moose Yearling Foundation, this year it plans to distribute about $1 million to deserving programs throughout the city. The beneficiaries are often underprivileged kids.

So, even if you don't walk away with approximately $40,000 at the next game, don't worry. Consider your ticket a donation to a worthy cause.

This week's Jetcetera report puts a few faces to some of the foundation's programming.
