About the Islanders:

-The Isles completed a five-game road trip Monday night in New Jersey with a 3-1 win over the Devils They are now just one point back of the Jets in the Eastern Conference, in ninth place.

-John Tavares scored the game winner against the Devils, giving him 22 goals to tie Steven Stamkos for the NHL lead.

-Of the Islanders remaining 12 games, seven are on the road, where the club is now 11-5-1 this season.

-Evgeni Nabokov picked up the win Monday night and has now been in the net for 31 of 36 Islanders games this season.

With 329 career wins, Nabokov ranks fourth among active goalies (behind Martin Brodeur, Roberto Luongo and Nikolai Khabibulin) and 21st all time.

Nabokov's 55 shutouts rank 19th all time and third among active goalies.

-Matt Martin leads the league with 173 hits. Last season, Martin led the NHL with 374 hits, marking the highest total recorded since hits became an official stat in 2005-06.
