About the Capitals
The Caps are 4-0-1 in their last five, including rallying twice from three-goal deficits in a shootout win over the Islanders on Tuesday... Alex Ovechkin has 11 of his 29 goals this year on the power play... Caps star Nicklas Backstrom, out since Jan. 7 with a concussion, is increasing his workload at practice and in workouts, but did not accompany the team on this trip, which will take them to Winnipeg, Chicago, Detroit and Philly.
About the Jets
Crucial contest for the Jets in the second of three at home this week... Blake Wheeler had two assists against Dallas on Wednesday to extend his point streak to six games (4G, 3A). He has 20 points (7G, 13A) in his last 12 games... Evander Kane has three goals in four games against the Caps this season... The Jets are 23-10-3 this season when scoring the first goal of the game.
