"ï"ï ABOUT THE ISLES
THE Isles were 3-1 vs. the Jets last season, including taking three of a possible four points here in Winnipeg. P.A. Parenteau, now in Colorado, had two game winners while John Tavares had four assists. In the one Jets' win, Ondrej Pavelec shut out the Isles 3-0 on Long Island.
Nino Niederreiter, the Islanders' top draft pick in 2010, has indicated he'd like a trade. He currently leads the club's AHL affiliate in Bridgeport in scoring, but GM Garth Snow has indicated they will not move him.
Tonight's game will be the third game of a five-game road trip for the Islanders that included a win over Toronto and a loss in Boston Friday. They stop here before wrapping up with games in Pittsburgh and New Jersey.
John Tavares has been on the ice for 62 consecutive Matt Moulson goals, earning assists on 41 of them, dating back to Nov. 17, 2010 against Tampa.
