Thrashers-Jets franchise first-round picks at the NHL entry draft:
1999 -- Patrik Stefan, C, 1st overall: Played 455 NHL games and, battling numerous injuries, retired after a 2007-08 season in Switzerland. Is now a player agent in California. Organization's only first-round pick that is no longer active.
2000 -- Dany Heatley, RW, 2nd: A veteran of 751 NHL games, was NHL rookie of the year in 2002, now with Minnesota; requested a trade and was dealt from the Thrashers to Ottawa in 2005.
2001 -- Ilya Kovalchuk, LW, 1st: Wouldn't re-sign with Thrashers in 2010 so was dealt to New Jersey; elite scorer has 779 NHL games played
2002 -- Kari Lehtonen, G, 2nd: Oft-injured goalie now a veteran of 346 NHL games; was dealt to Dallas in Feb. 2010 for Ivan Vishnevsky and a fourth-round pick that turned into prospect Ivan Telegin; Jim Slater, C, 30th -- Winnipeg's fourth-line centre, has re-signed for next season already
2003 -- Braydon Coburn, D, 8th: Has played 460 NHL games and 65 more in the playoffs; dealt to Philly in 2007.
2004 -- Boris Valabik, D, 10th: Has played 80 NHL games, all for Atlanta, but spent last season in the AHL. Dealt to Boston in Feb., 2011 in the trade that brought Mark Stuart and Blake Wheeler to Jets.
2005 -- Alex Bourret, RW, 16th: Has never played an NHL game; spent 43 games in Central League and six in AHL last season
2006 -- Bryan Little, C, 12th: Winnipeg's first- and sometimes second-line centre
2007 -- none
2008 -- Zach Bogosian, D, 3rd: Blossoming star on defence in Winnipeg; Daulton Leveille, C, 29th: Just finished his fourth season at Michigan State
2009 -- Evander Kane, LW, 4th: Scored 30 goals for the Jets in his third pro year
2010 -- Alex Burmistrov, C, 8th: Just finished second full season with the Thrashers/Jets
2011 -- Mark Scheifele, C, 7th: Seven games to start last season with the Jets, returned to Barrie of the OHL
