STRAIGHT SHOOTER:
Not the Winnipeg Jets. With Sunday's 26 missed shots, by 14 different players, the Jets took over the lead in the NHL category of shots that miss the net, with 208 in 14 games.
NO SLACKER:
Jets right-winger Anthony Peluso has played just once in 14 games, namely last Tuesday against Philadelphia. And for just 2 minutes, 49 seconds.
But you won't find him slacking off at practice.
Monday, Peluso was the star of the show when the team had some shootout practise at the end of its workout. The 23-year-old with just one NHL game to his credit nearly ran the table of five shootout pucks waiting for him, scoring on four straight.
Maybe trying to get on the coach's list for the next shootout game?
"I know. Pretty impressive, wasn't he?" Jets coach Claude Noel said later. "He's going to be a guy I've got to get in to play. Don't worry, I'm taking notice. He had a good practice the other day as well."
DAY OF REST:
Prior to their travel day to Buffalo, the Jets held a fairly short practice at the MTS Centre.
The team skated without defenceman Mark Stuart, who was taking a "maintainence" day.
