About the Jets
Have dropped to ninth in the Eastern Conference after a shootout loss to St. Louis last Saturday and regulation defeat by Edmonton in their last two games... Dustin Byfuglien picked up two assists against the Oilers to extend his career-longest point streak to seven games (2G, 11A). Heading into action Wednesday, he is now third among NHL D-men in scoring with 43 points (10G, 32A), behind only Ottawa's Erik Karlsson (66 points) and Florida's Brian Campbell (43 points)... Evander Kane is also in the midst of his career-longest point streak. He's picked up points (5G, 5A) in each of his last seven games.
About the Panthers
First in the Southeast Division after reeling off two straight wins -- ending a four-game losing skid -- and going 6-3-1 in their last 10... The Panthers will be without forward Kris Versteeg (lower-body injury) and the Jets won't be teary-eyed that No. 32 won't be in the Florida lineup: Versteeg has killed the Jets with five goals in two games in Winnipeg and six goals and two assists overall in their four meetings... The Panthers are looking to end the NHL's longest current stretch between playoff appearances. Florida hasn't made the post-season since 2000.
