Tonight: Jets at Rangers

ABOUT THE RANGERS

  • New York is coming off a 3-0 loss to Montreal on Saturday -- its third straight defeat -- and is battling some injuries. The Rangers will be without Rick Nash for a fourth straight game with what is believed to be a concussion. Also on the mend is defenceman Ryan McDonagh. New York is expected to welcome back Darroll Powe and Michael Del Zotto, who missed the Canadiens game. "As a collective group we have to pick up for the guys that are missing," captain Ryan Callahan told reporters after Monday's practice at the Rangers facility in Rye, N.Y. "It can't be one or two guys doing it themselves."
  • The Jets lost all four meetings with the Rangers last year, including being shut out twice in New York.
  • The Rangers power play is second-last in the NHL (heading into Monday's action) with an 11.5 per cent success rate. By comparison, Winnipeg's PP is ranked 20th at 16.4. The Rangers surrendered a power-play goal against the Canadiens, but have killed 21 of the last 23 over the last eight games.
