About the Senators
- One of the NHL's real surprises last year, finishing second in the Northeast Division and eighth in the Eastern Conference with a 41-31-10 record before falling in seven games to the New York Rangers in the opening round.
- Senators top line should feature Jason Spezza in the middle with Jakob Silfverberg on the right and Milan Michalek on the left with Kyle Turris centering Guillaume Latendresse and Daniel Alfredsson.
- Spezza finished fourth in NHL scoring last year with 84 points and his 34 goals matched a career high.
- The Sens' 2.96 goals per game last year was fourth-best in the NHL, behind only Pittsburgh (3.33), Philadelphia and Boston (both 3.17).
- Alfredsson is 77th on the NHL career goals list with 416. Among active players he is fifth, behind Jaromir Jagr (665, 11th all-time), Teemu Selanne (663, 12th), Jarome Iginla (516, 35th) and Marian Hossa (417, 76th).
