About the Devils

Both teams traveled to get to tonight's game. The Jets had half the miles to fly, as the Devils were coming back from San Jose, where they lost 2-1 Saturday night to the Sharks. It was a three-game road trip that began with victories in Anaheim and Los Angeles.

After a poor start, 1-5-4 in the first 10 games, the Devils have perked up considerably. They've won three of their last four.

New Jersey and Winnipeg have played once this season, a 3-0 Jets victory at the MTS Centre.

When RW Jaromir Jagr scored to end Thursday's OT game in L.A., it gave him 18 regular-season overtime goals, extending his NHL record.

Tonight's game features the first and eighth active leading scorers in the NHL, Jagr and LW Patrik Elias. Jagr has 1,706 points, while Elias has 941. Their combined total is more than 400 ahead of the next pair of teammates, Teemu Selanne and Saku Koivu in Anaheim.
