About the Red Wings:

The Jets and Red Wings last met Nov. 4 at the MTS Centre, with Winnipeg winning 4-2 on a night they shelled goalie Jimmy Howard with 47 shots. The win sparked a bit of a run for the Jets, who've now won three of their last four beginning with that victory over Detroit. Detroit, meanwhile, is winless in their last three.

The Jets might be catching Detroit at a good time -- the Wings last played on Saturday and lost 3-2 in overtime to Tampa Bay. The loss pushed Detroit's winless skid at Joe Louis Arena to five games (0-1-4) -- the longest winless streak at home for the Red Wings since 1997.

Despite the recent troubles at home, the Red Wings are 9-5-4 on the season, 3-2-4 at home and are tied for third in the Atlantic Division heading into today's play.

The Red Wings power play has gone cold of late, registering just one goal in their last 20 opportunities with the man advantage.
