ABOUT THE PREDS

-- The Preds arrived in Winnipeg fresh from an impressive 6-4 win over the Colorado Avalanche in Denver Wednesday -- a game in which Colin Wilson, the son of longtime NHLer Carey Wilson, scored twice and added two helpers. The effort was the second four-point night in Wilson's career.

-- Nashville is 2-0-1 in the first three games of a franchise-record seven-game, 17-day road trip that doesn't wind up until Nov. 15 against Pittsburgh.

-- Carter Hutton, filling in for the injured Pekka Rinne, picked up the win over the Avs and is now 4-1-1 with a 2.94 GAA and .908 save percentage. Hutton is 2-0 against the Jets this season, having surrendered just three goals while posting a .960 save percentage.

-- Defenceman Seth Jones leads all rookies with 25:11 in average ice time (Winnipeg's Jacob Trouba, who has been out since Oct. 18, is second at 21:15. The Preds are also getting big minutes from two other rookies: Matthias Ekholm (18:45) and Victor Bartley (13:40). A third freshman, Filip Forsberg, was assigned to the Milwaukee Admirals on Thursday.

-- The Preds' power play currently ranks third in the NHL, behind only Washington and Minnesota, with a percentage of 24.4. They are just 24th in five-on-five goals, averaging only .70.
