-- The Rangers entered Thursday's play, their game in Minnesota, with a better road record (19-12-0) than home record (16-15-4). New York was in possession of one of the eight Eastern Conference playoff spots with 74 points. That was only three points better than ninth place, however, so nothing's locked up.

-- The Rangers and Jets have met once this season, Dec. 2 at Madison Square Garden in New York when the Jets scored a 5-2 decision. This season, New York is 7-4-0 against the Central Division and 10-10 against the Western Conference.

-- On trade-deadline day, the Rangers exchanged some leadership (captain Ryan Callahan) for some elite skill in Martin St. Louis in a deal with the Tampa Bay Lightning. St. Louis had just one assist in his first four games for the Blueshirts.

-- After a 3-7-0 start to the season that included beginning with nine straight on the road, the Rangers have crawled up the ladder and into the mix in the Eastern Conference. Heading into Thurday's game against the Wild, they were 19-9-2 since Dec. 22.
